Sleepy Monday
Hey everyone...what's new? I'm super sleepy today. Watched some of the oscars last night and stayed up way later talking about them.
Re: Sleepy Monday
I'm getting my schoolwork organized/actually using the planner I was given. And then making progress on life! It's not very exciting, but I'll feel better about everything once it's over. I'm drinking a couple cups of black tea to chase away the Monday doldrums.

Is it a physical planner or an online planner? I love organizing. It makes me feel relaxed. I just got some last-minute homework thrown at me that's due tomorrow morning, so my successful writing day is not exactly going out with a bang.
Re: Sleepy Monday
A physical planner! I get to write in it with a pen and everything! lol. I like organizing--it makes me feel like I have achievable goals.
Re: Sleepy Monday
I need to learn how to stay organized. Sure, I can GET organized, but I STAYING organized would be the issue.
My Monday was productive! Even if I was half asleep through half of it. I got some new ideas for Willow & wrote a little bit more. I even worked out, went to class & practiced guitar for a little bit.

Sounds like something I need.

LOL! Same here. I tend to get pretty disorganized.
Re: Sleepy Monday
I broke out my planner, too! It makes me feel better about life. Though it seems Amanda's "Monday doldrums" were after me--I was feeling pretty subpar this morning…but I got my meds! It's okay!
After that, I went to work for six hours. But, my manager wasn't there again. She swapped shifts. I'm beginning to think she's avoiding me. Anyway, after her less-than-exemplary evaluation of me, I put in my two-weeks notice. That'll show her.
(I have less immature reasons for quitting, really. )

Uh oh, what happened with your manager?
Re: Sleepy Monday
It's kind of complicated. Nothing's really happened, I just haven't seen her in a month. Not since she left me an official notice that my lateness was getting out of hand, and I have been exactly on time ever since.Lizzy wrote:Uh oh, what happened with your manager?
Two weeks ago, she did the annual employee evaluations, and mine had some strange comments about subaverage customer service and teamwork, and insufficient product knowledge. I have no idea what the customer service is about, and she wrote underneath the 'meets some expectations' bar that I "work good with others". The product thing…probably because I'm a little slower than average--I won't hand out burnt shots, and I use a thermometer for the milk--quality over quantity. Last time I saw her, she was giving out burnt shots like candy.
Plus, I haven't worked with her for four months--as soon as I get there on Mondays, her shift is over. I'm not sure what she's basing these evaluations on. Either way, I'm quitting--I need the free days for schoolwork. …Sorry for rambling.
Re: Sleepy Monday
Yep, she is. It was quit the job and have less money, or keep the job, not graduate, and stay in the job for the rest of her life, lol. That's putting it a bit melodramatically, but yes--she would like to graduate. I quit working at the same place back at the end of October, because it was replacing all the time I used to use to write. I figured I'd better get serious if I wanted that hefty advance check to help pay for college.

Eehh, yeah. Definitely graduate! LOL, definitely! Glad you chose writing. I'm probably going to end up applying for a less-than-pleasant summer job this year because I need the money for college/a car and I have more free time in the summer. Plus it's a walk away from my house so I'm thinking no gas is GOOD. I can ride my bike or walk or whatever, and make money. *sigh* But I'm not looking forward to it.
Re: Sleepy Monday
Oh, that would be so awesome! I live at the top of a hill, and any job would be at least a thirty minute bike ride, or an hour and a half walk, and that's in great weather. I also need money for college, but my mom got Renee' and I a car to share about a year and a half ago(manual, bare-bones Hyundai Accent) really cheap, so transportation isn't so much a problem. Just the gas money, and the time to earn the gas money + college money.Lizzy wrote:Eehh, yeah. Definitely graduate! LOL, definitely! Glad you chose writing. Hey, whatever gets you from A to B is great! I'm totally going to buy a cheap, used car when it comes time to get one. Well good luck to you getting all the money you need! LOL Do you already have college figured out? As in where you're going / what you're majoring in?
Re: Sleepy Monday
Yup--a university in Washington, major in English(of course, lol). I might double major in music, though. It all depends on what classes are required for the music minor, as opposed to the major.Lizzy wrote:Hey, whatever gets you from A to B is great! Wow, Washington? You think you'll miss home? I'm not surprised about the Engiish. Music is wonderful. <3
Re: Sleepy Monday
Haha, for the first semester, I'll probably only miss my cats. The family's driving me pretty crazy right now...Lizzy wrote:Wow, Washington? You think you'll miss home? I'm not surprised about the Engiish. Music is wonderful. <3
