What are "Critique Points" ?
Critique Points are gained by doing various things on the Write On! forums. For example, posting a message on the "General" forum earns you +1 point.
The purpose is to have fun, but there is a prize when you hit 5,000 Critique Points because, hey, 5,000 points is worth celebrating!
When you reach 5,000 Critique Points you may "turn them in" for a 500 word critique session on the Write On! blog. All you need to do is send* your forums username to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and ask to turn your 5,000 points in for the critique!
(*We'll also be checking the email address you use to make sure it's the same as the one you registered on the forums with.)
This doesn't get rid of your points. You may only turn in your points 5,000 at a time. So if you hit 10,000, you may turn them in for another critique. This is also totally optional, so if you don't have a WIP or you just don't want a critique that's chill. 5,000 points still looks cool.
Good luck!

Re: What are "Critique Points" ?
Thanks for posting this! I've been wondering what they were, but wasn't sure where to ask. So you just earn crit points, one by one, until you get to 5k? And is the 500 word critique for the beginning of your novel/story/what-have-you, or anywhere? Thanks.

Yep! Doing different things earns you different amounts of points. For example, posting a suggestion earns you 2 points instead of just 1.
The 500 words can be any 500 words you want critiqued. It can be from your current WIP, an old one, or just an idea in your notebook. It's up to you!

Wow this is cool. I was wondering what the critique points were for too so thank you! Who is the first 500 words critiqued by? I would assume Lizzy cause that's who were sending it too right? I loved the critique that Lizzy did on some peoples introductions soo if it is her then yay! Lol
Oh, and I was wondering what the stars were for?

If you want to "turn in" your 5,000 points for a critique it will go up (anonymously, of course, unless you'd rather have your name/username up there) on the blog. Then anyone who comments can give it a critique right there in the comment box, so really you're opening your work up to everyone who reads the blog and wants to comment.
The stars are just for fun. They show you your progress on the forums by slowly moving up the more you post. Eventually you'll get a shiny crown icon when you reach several hundred posts- I don't remember the number.
