You in a novel
Do you ever write yourself into your novels? If so, do you actually write your name in there or just a sub-character (or even a main!) that is almost exactly like you.
I've put myself in a novel before, and I admit to writing a boy into the picture that was very similar to someone I had feelings for. *hides face*

lol, I've put my name in a novel but it normally goes with a description completely different than what I look like. I wrote myself into one book, but that was because the story was sort of about me, the thing I love about it is that its soo easy to write, cause I just have to ask "What would I say?" I wrote a guy into the picture too lol

I love how you wrote a story about you! When I was younger I planned one day I'd write the story of my life like Laura Ingalls did. I never actually did.
How easy when the MC is you - you know just what you'd do! Plus it's kind of exciting. xD
LOL- I'm glad I'm not the only one!
Re: You in a novel
I always wanted to do that too but I never had an interesting enough life lol. The story I wrote about me has a character based on me and then the basic part of the story is about me but I added some stuff to make it more interesting
Nope, not the only one

Oh gosh, same story here. My life was not interesting enough! Besides I never could remember word-for-word everything I said in those... er ... nonexistant exciting events of my life. LOL, just kidding.
Sounds fun though, to give yourself the dream adventure! That's one of the fun things about writing.
Re: You in a novel
I know, its really fun! I stopped working on it though so I could focus on a different WIP

I think it's awesome that you guys have done this! lol I think it'd be really cool to read something like that by an author. It's so, personal, you know?
I've never used my name in any of my stories just because it's such a weird name that I can't imagine a character having it lol. (Sometimes I think it's weird that I'm named something so weird.. ) But I have tried to write out a situation I was in. Kind of like tell my own story but use different characters name(for both me & the guy haha..).

*gasp* Shahira! Your name is not weird! Are you kidding me? I think it's beyond cool! Do you know how awesome your name is going to look on your books? Be thankful you don't have a typical name-- you can get looked over! Or you have the experience of bumping in to someone (or in my case, 3 someones) who share your name. Not fun.
Awkward moment: Someone calls your name and you answer, realizing a moment later they were calling someone else.
Re: You in a novel
Thanks Sarah.
Lizzy, I've always wondered what it would feel like knowing another Shahira but what were the odds of that happening? haha..
I mean, sure it's unique but I dreaded EVERY first day of school because the teachers would never be able to pronounce it right. It was just embarrassing.
I don't hate it though. Not anymore at least. It wasn't until high school that I really started warming up to it. My family/friends have called me Shari all my life & I would always correct my teachers & get them to say that instead of Shahira but now I'm trying to do the opposite lol. If it wasn't for the meaning of the name, I wouldn't like it.

Shahira, you have such a pretty name! It's unique in a good way.
I don't think I could ever write myself in my novel...I'd be afraid of it becoming a Mary Sue or something. Maybe I would add my friend, but she/he woudn't be a major character.

Re: You in a novel
Oh my, are you psychic! I'll tell you a little embarrassing secret...before Jack Easley, LONG before him, I was writing a series about a teenage volunteer veterinary intern. The MC was me. Yes, completely and utterly me. It will never see the light of day. Ever.
