Book recommendations?
Next time I'm at the Library, are there any books you all recommend I look for?
Re: Book recommendations?
Before I Fall - Lauren Oliver
If I Stay - Gayle Forman
Shiver & Linger - Maggie Stiefvater
Hush Hush & Crescendo - Becca Fitzpatrick
Anything by Sarah Dessen
Looking for Alaska - John Green
Thirteen Reasons Why - Jay Asher
Just a few that I really love.

Re: Book recommendations?
Thank you!! So helpful. You know I've actually been meaning to read Shiver and Linger. I just picked up Shiver in Borders today and remembered I've been wanting to read it.
Re: Book recommendations?
I doubt you're still in the library (lol) but I recommend Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult anyway. You'll probably find it in the adult section, though, rather than YA. Oh, and anything by John Green!

Thank you! No I'm not at all, LOL, but I'm planning ahead for my next trip.
Re: Book recommendations?
You should definitely read Shiver & Linger. Actually, I haven't yet read Linger only because I know once I do I have to wait until the summer for the third book so I'm waiting it out haha.
@Maya Is Paper Towns good? I always read the summary &get discouraged. :/

Re: Book recommendations?
If you're into darker fantasy, Sabriel by Garth Nix (and Lirael and Abhorsen) are really good. I just wouldn't suggest reading them at night.
They have necromancy (good and bad,) and I'm a bit of a pansy when it comes to reading darker stuff at night.

Ooo Kelley Armstrongs book the Summonings MC is a necromancer! Except the story isn't very dark, only a tad bit, which is the perfect amount for me

Re: Book recommendations?
Yeah, I personally have a problem with necromancers being portrayed as good, bringing souls back from the dead, but I really like the Abhorsen trilogy, because there're the bad necromancers, and then the Abhorsen, who has the same powers, but in reverse--laying souls back to rest, so they can pass on into the place after death. The world-building is mega-awesome. I'd want to live there if the idea of souls being able to come back didn't completely terrify me.
Re: Book recommendations?
Zombies scare me. I have problems. I do the undead dungeons in The Legend of Zelda with my eyes shut. (Only a slight exaggeration. )

She really isn't portrayed as "good" persay, really she was in an experiment that messed with her powers and she doesn't know how to control them, she knows that bringing souls back from the dead bad.... Alright I'm gonna stop now before I ruin the book for you all but you should try reading it Amanda, I think you might like it!

Hmm...I might give it a shot. I'm really too busy right now to be doing much reading, but there will be time for it in the future.Sarah wrote:She really isn't portrayed as "good" persay, really she was in an experiment that messed with her powers and she doesn't know how to control them, she knows that bringing souls back from the dead bad.... I know what you mean! School and work is really cutting into my reading and writing time! But, if you get free time you should give it a shot
