Finished Chapter 10!! :D

I FINISHED!!

You may or may not know once I hit about Chapter 10 I know I will officially finish the novel, and not leave it in some folder somewhere never to be picked up again.

So, it's official! I'm going to finish this WIP!! I'm SO EXCITED!

To make things better I wrote way over today's word requirement (according to Scrivener) so I'm not just on track, I'm ahead of the game toward finishing right on schedule.

Okay, I'm just a little excited. Thought I'd share.

That's wonderful! Go awesome you! So what page number is chapter 10 on?
When I hit the last page, I know I'll finish it
All I'll have left as lots of editing, and editing is okay. It's getting the story out properly without editing as I go that's hard.

Thanks! Uhh, I have no idea how many pages Chapter 10 is. ^^ I don't know how to figure that out on Scrivener. I just count the words, and it ended at 2,060 words, so...

LOL! Last page does kinda let you know you'll finish it, haha.

I meant what page number the first page of ch 10 landed on, but, yeah... Scriv doesn't say how many pages... Forgot about that. I bet there's a way to turn something like that on, somewhere.
I really should do the tutorial again.

Oh, I like the writing part(wouldn't do it if I didn't ), but my OCDness always wants to butt in and fix the writing until it's centered, color-coded, all consistent, etc... It's hard sometimes to shut off my inner Monk.

Sheesh, I need an inner Monk. LOL! I really hate the edits because I'm kind of a perfectionist and I can never do EVERYTHING I want to get fixed, and so I get overwhelmed and discouraged really fast and I'm quick to call it a load of crap and just give up and move on.

*eats virtual cake piece after virtual cake piece* LOL! I had a chocolate mug cake tonight. I made frosting for it, too. I still have two pieces left, two round pieces. xD I've got quite the cake fix this week!!

But THANK YOU! I'm so excited!! I can't wait to announce when I'm done with it! And then I have those edits to do, which I'm uh...kind of ignoring right now.

Honestly, I love the editing part. The line-by-line stuff. I'll stare at a sentence for ages just trying to think of a better word to use. Of course, not always. Sometimes I'm tempted to throw my laptop against the wall(Thank goodness I don't act on that urge. )

Just remember... It's okay to call it a load of crap. But it's YOUR load of crap, not anyone else's, so THERE. And if you keep dogging on with the edits, then your load of crap will turn all nice and purty and shiiiiiny! And it's the nice-n-purty-n-shiiiiiny stuff that you got to keep in mind when you're staring at it and hating its crap-loaded guts.

Ooh! I have an inner-Monk too--he keeps me sane with all these line-edits, even though the creative plot edits are the only fun ones. LOL, yes, it is your load of crap, and, according to an episode of Mythbusters I saw recently, it's actually possible to polish crap. So go for it! And then, when the crap is polished, you'll realize that it's not really crap at all, but a shiny, awesome piece of win!

I wish I loved the line-by-line stuff! I get burned out two pages in. xP I really hate it that much! But it's a skill I'll need to learn if I want to be published one day. xD

I will try that mentality, see if it helps.

LOL! I love Mythbusters. xD

It works for me. It's kinda like the whole: "I'm allowed to bully my little brother around, because hes my little brother. But anyone else touches him, and they're in a world of trouble." in the sense that you just gotta be really possessive of it. If you're possessive, you're less likely to give up and let yourself forget about it.
At risk of sounding a touch strange, let out your inner psycho and let him make like a... a celebrity stalker(like the ones you see in TV shows that are super creepy and think the star they stalk belongs ONLY to them).
So. Key to sticking with editing: An inner Monkish celebrity stalker.
