Happy Saturday!
What's happening today? ^^
I'm hoping for some writing and -- especially -- reading! But we'll see if there's time between errands.
You?

I taught swim lessons. It was exciting. And now I'm super-tired. So I'm gonna go take a nap... Then I'll write some.

Eh, it's about... 85˚ outside right now, and it's pretty humid. But the pool was inside.
It was a one-day volunteer thing, not regular lessons. One group was like, 5, and the next were all 8ish. But some of the 8-yr-olds had never swam before, so each group was pretty varied in levels.

Re: Happy Saturday!
Wow! Its way warmer there. I just got 6 inches of snow two days ago lol.
That is soo cool! It has to feel great knowing that you're teaching those kids something to keep them safe, I think it's important that all kids learn how to swim.

Re: Happy Saturday!
@WriteSpinner You want to teach me how to swim? haha I can't because I'm terrified of the water.
There was a community lunch thing at the Mosque today so I went there then came over to the hospital to visit my Gramps. Now I'm sitting in the waiting room about to start noveling. Wish me luck guys. I'm working with NO coffee in the system..

@Shahira I'm glad your grandpa is getting better! Is he going to be let out of the hospital soon? LOL, working without Caffine? What about sugar? If I were you I would have broken down in the first five minutes and raided the vending machine

Re: Happy Saturday!
@Sarah: We had a brief stunt of cold weather(and by that I mean 40˚s and 50˚s during the day), but it's looooong gone. Probably won't see anything like that again till next winter.
It does. Kids not knowing how to swim is a soft spot in my family––me and my siblings have all been in swimming lessons and half of us are now Water Safety Instructors, too. It's not like we're planning to take over the world, or anything. We would NEVER try to do that. *looks innocent*
@Shahira, Lol. I'm afraid I can't do much over a forum. But water isn't scary, you know. A lot of your body mass is water! How can it be scary if it's inside you?
I'm going to write now. I've checked all my social sites, and now the internet is going OFF. And the K-pop music is coming ON. And the writing is going to COMMENCE. And it will not... uncommence until I've written at least... 1000 words.
Okay. The all-capping was a bit over the top, I'll admit. But the statement is out there and other people know now, so I can't NOT do it.
See y'all 1000 words from now. *waves*

Re: Happy Saturday!
@WriteSpinner Lucky! I wish I had warm weather! It's starting to warm up a little bit around here though so I'm happy
LOL, why is it that when I read that last part I see this in my head haha Jk, but that's great that you're teaching them how to swim. I've heard so many stories about children drowning because they were never taught to swim and it's all so preventable.

Re: Happy Saturday!
You can have mine. I'm not gonna want it. It'll get nasty hot soon enough. (That's actually me, sunburned. Not me "oops"ing. )
...I can't imagine why you'd see that. I'm much too angelic to even suggest that.
Yeah. Like I said, it's touchy in our family. If I ran the world(...Not that I would even consider that ), swimming lessons would be mandatory.
But I don't run the world(yet). So I'll have to settle for teaching them myself. It's a really fun job!! I'd suggest it to anyone.

Re: Happy Saturday!
I hate sunburns, I changed my mind, you can keep the super hot weather lol.
haha, I love how you put the (yet) in. Should I be afraid? lol
I might try teaching lessons but I have gone to lessons since I was 12 (with junior lifegaurding) so someone would have to teach me how to teach the kids.
Yay! That's awesome!!!! I'm happy for you

Re: Happy Saturday!
Yes. Be afraid. Be VERY afraid. Because when I take over the world, Ireland and Korea will become the new superpowers. And everyone will listen to K-Pop and speak Gaelic! Mwahahahaha!!!!
I'm certified by the American Red Cross(which also means they taught me how to teach and gave me a cool binder with a bunch of stuff in it. ). I'm sure it's really easy to find a WSI course if you go to your local Red Cross chapter and ask––especially if you live in/near a big city. The class costs a bit, but I think it's worth it.

Re: Happy Saturday!
*hides* but I like American music! Well, most of it at least but I wouldn't mind having to learn another language, though Gaelic sounds hard.
I'll have to look into that. I've done jr. Life guarding with the red cross so I know how to save someone if they're drowning so at least that's a start

Re: Happy Saturday!
It really does... Why are all the languages I want to learn hard?
That's good. Being able to save someone's life is definitely a win!

Re: Happy Saturday!
I'm learning Spanish, which is pretty easy. The first phrase I was taught was "Yo soy American" lol
Yup, its nice knowing that if anything happened I wouldn't be useless

Yo soy American?
"I am American" will definitely be useful. Because they wouldn't be able to tell just by looking at you

Which is really an oxymoron if I've ever seen one. Because you DO know Spanish(the phrase itself being proof), you just don't know MUCH.
