Cheer Me Up

Post  Taryn on Tue May 03, 2011 6:10 pm

That title is to be said in a very imperious voice. Got a rejection after 2.5 months from an agent who'd sent multiple emails saying she loved certain scenes Sad

On the other hand, I read Divergent and aced a final.

Somehow it doesn't balance out.

How was your Tuesday?

When you said "imperious", my mind said "Terminator", and now I have an image of Arnold Schwartzenegger pointing a gun at my head and emotionlessly ordering me to cheer him up. *cough* Anywayyyy... ...I didn't really have anything to say other than that. Except that rejection sucks (or so I've heard -- I'm not even at the point where I can be rejected, yet) but don't worry. If all else fails, you can hire Arnold Schwartzenegger to point a machine gun at their head and force them to accept you. :-P

Aww, that sucks. Sad When I'm down, I always watch Julian Smith videos on Youtube, particularly Mr. Timn in Candyland, because I can't watch something that hilarious and not feel better. But because you've displayed such disdain* for video on the interwebz...I'd stick with imagining Arnold Schwartzenegger. Or better yet, imagining what the other agents are going to say. Positive things, yes? Very Happy

Can I pronounce the title in a posh British imperious voice? Btw, which novel have you been querying? Jes' wonderin'. Wink I'm going to go back to wasting my life learning about how bills become laws. Blah.

*Disdain is one of my favorite words, and I really don't know why.

Aww I'm sorry, I know it hurts getting rejections especially if you got your hopes up, but I always think that everything happens for a reason and you'll end up with an amazing agent who you love and who loves you Very Happy Yay for reading a book and acing a final!!!

I got school done early so I was able to edit for half an hour or so which was good, I really want these edits to be done by the end of school so I can start the second round of edits after that but with all the school work I'm doing I doubt that will happen :/

@Andre Really? Not "Imperial"? Also, I just noticed that we talk about Schwartzenegger a lot.

@Amanda I dislike Youtube. But dumb TV is working too Smile And yes, disdain is an awesome world. Ohhh lol just noticed what you said about my preferences. I hope so about the agents. I've been querying Splashback. Good luck with your hw!

@Sarah I luff you! So much positivity! *squishes* On the subject of edits--we should have a revise-off one of these days, where we compete to get the most pages revised in like a few hours or a day or something. Thoughts?

*big big hug* That sucks! Sad On the bright side, she probably wasn't the right one for you anyway, right? YOUR agent will love and gobble up Splashback for breakfast lunch and dinner. And I agree with Amanda. Nothing gives me a good giggle like Julian Smith's videos! Hehe.

*another hug* But yay about the final! That doesn't count for nothing.

@Lizzy--Have you seen Rendezvous With You? It came out like yesterday. So so awesome. XD

@Taryn--I thought you were querying Splashback, but I didn't remember for sure. And yes, I agree with Lizzy--your future agent will love it 100%, so a rejection just means one less offer to turn down. Wink

@Amanda Yes! LOL. I saw it right after he posted it on Facebook, haha. I smiled throughout the whole thing.

@Amanda Yes! LOL! I love Julian Smith. I think he's seriously talented. (Actually, a screenshot of his Reading A Book music video (which I found thanks to YOU!) is the background of my phone right now, and has been for a while. I smile inside every time I see it!)

It is the least I can do, spreading the Julian love. I love you He's got to have the best directing and editing skills on the interwebz. Plus he's absolutely hilarious, which don't hurt. Razz I don't think it gets better than him. Smile

I totally agree. Truly. His videos are so well filmed and edited and, yes, he's really funny! And he can sing, too, when he tries. xD I am really glad you introduced me to him.

Aww thanks xD *hugs* We should, even though you'd probably win haha. Maybe over the weekend? We can figure out if Saturday or Sunday works better. What do you think?
