Woooohooo! My favorite day of the week.

QUESTION: When do you do the most plotting? Do you sit and type as you think on the computer? Do you lie in bed at night and know your story in the morning?

I usually think up a story idea. Then I like to take a walk. Or do dishes. Or do something that I can do without too much brain power. After I've got a little more to go on than my initial idea, I start to get it down––and notice issues. So I think up fixes for the issues while I'm typing.

sometimes I write down whatever idea I have in my head. I might also think about something forget about it for some time and then finish it weeks later.

I think I tend to dream up plot things while going to sleep, or bored and attempting to daydream. My mind likes to go on little bunny trails, and sometimes I can get awesomeness out of it. I just need to make sure that I limit my plot points to the ones that have more reason than 'this would be REALLY cool.'

Ugh. I don't bother to brainstorm anymore. My queue of plots is already ten novels long. It grows no matter what I try to do. I write down ideas whenever I have them and put them together to make a plot.

Actually plotting a story (since I'm a plotter) is different. I outline, and I know my premise and my characters and then I write three or four setences for each chapter. That's usually takes a couple days.

@WriteSpinner Same here! (of course) And I write them down as I think of them. I have a document for all story ideas (even little things) and I write them down almost as soon as I can.

@Amanda Ooo, so frustrating! Right when you're trying to sleep. XD That doesn't happen to me often-- or, actually, it kind of does. But that's neat how you can limit them!

@Taryn *sigh* I am jealous of your plotting skills. You will go so far. ^^ I am, unfortunately, a pantser for life.

I have no idea. Sometimes things just hit me, and other times, things come from songs or dreams or books. Sometimes I plan, sometimes I just wing it.
