QOTD Thursday May 19
The sun came out today! I'm good.
QUESTION: How do you pick yourself up when you're having an Oh-Why-Am-I-A-Writer!?!? day? What do you do to encourage yourself? To re-motivate yourself? Do you even have days like that at all?

The sun came out where I live too! After five straight days of rain haha. Oh and I love your new pic! Did you have your sister take it?
I have those days often haha. What I do is I go back into my pile of my favorite books of all time and I read for an hour or two. By the end I'm motivated again because those are the books I want to write and those are the authors I want to be like and it motivates me to keep writing
Oh, and good job thinking up all these questions LOL. I was going to try and help out and think of a few and I couldn't *is impressed*

Oh... uh... I dunno. I have not-so-great days, but I usually just wait them out. They don't last long. My moods never do. One minute I'm sad, the next I'm bouncing off walls. Same happens with my writing days. Some I'm super excited, next I consider myself a failure.
But one thing is for sure. I always bounce back.

Yay! And thanks, yes, she did.
That's a perfect solution! Because me too. I need to read something -- preferably something good -- and it gets my motivation right up again.
Thanks! LOL. I like asking questions. And you can totally help anytime & suggest stuff!

LOL! That's excellent. I should learn how to bounce back quick like that.

Love the new picture Lizzy. :]
When I have those days I think about how much I want to see my book on the shelves like my favorite authors. I just kind of imagine it happening &it gives me some inspiration again. Corny stuff like that. :-D lol..

@Lizzy: I'm not sure if it's learnable. It's a personality thing... which means you could master it if you wanted. xP
@Shariha: That's not cheesy at all! I love it. I'll try that next time I get down.

Hmm...I actually don't have those kind of days. I have humbling moments, where I realize a fault in my writing (*cough*was/were's*cough*), but it's never 'why am I a writer? '. Probably because I'm also a musician, so I trade between insecurities and never get low enough to question my purpose in either, lol.

Thank you.
And that's NOT corny! Whatever helps. And that's awesome!

Well, considering I always do eventually bounce back up, I guess it's totally possible for me. *thinks*

This is truly awesome, Amanda. I would really like to be more like that.
Re: QOTD Thursday May 19
I don't really have "Oh why am I a writer?" days, but I have plenty of "Oh I'm going to completely fail at life" days. XD
I love writing and I can't not write. Even when I'm stuck and I hate writing, I still love it (it makes sense in some sort of alternate reality, I'm sure). The problem is I love it too much. I want to be able to make a living as a writer and there's really no other job I'd want to have. There are plenty of jobs I can do just in order to survive and have a place to live, but they're not careers. I generally get over it when I realize that I don't care if I live in a crappy apartment for the rest of my life so long as I have a computer, coffee, and time to write. XD I tend to swing between "I can totally make a living as a writer!" and "I'm going to be flipping hamburgers all my life, aren't I?"
Yes, I think about my future too much. And even with all this foresight, I still make stupid decisions like this one. :-P

@Lizzy Seeee?
@André It's not stupid.
I think about the future all the time. I've decided I'd be okay with a crappy apartment too, but I'd prefer to travel, living out of a suitcase, as long as I had Carlton. As long as I could write, I'd be good.

I'm always in a good mood and even if I don't write for a few days because I didn't have the time to' I can pick up a pen and write something I have been thinking of. So I have no on or off days lol I'm always motivated

Andre, that pretty much describes me. Well, well said. I think the "why am I a writer??" days are generated out of "Ohhhh, I can't make this a CAREER!". But same as you, I would NEVER give up writing itself. Because I love it too much. Even if I'm writing crap no one wants to read, I need to write. It's almost a necessity to survive.
Well, well said.
