QOTD Monday May 23

I'm having a good Monday. WHAT!? You know what that means. It's almost SUMMER.

QUESTION: What time of year do you tend to get the most writing done during? How about time of day? Is there a specific situation that helps you concentrate? When do you have the most trouble writing?

My answer would be, oddly, that I get the most writing done during the school year. Because time is so limited, I take advantage of all that I have, and tend to get lots done in short bursts. I also write best early in the morning, and after 3pm. My mind is very alive at night, too, though I usually choose sleeping over writing. XD

Oh, and I have the most trouble writing in the afternoons and when I'm sleepy. Quiet rooms help me concentrate, and soundtrack (no lyrics!) helps me get in the mode.

Sadly, I write best at night. I'm not a morning person, I always have things to do during the day, and my in the afternoon/early evening family's around. So I stay up laaaate into the night and write. Like last night. I stayed up till two.
This used to not be a problem. Until Mommy decided I need to get up early. *dies* Guess I need to find a new writing time.

I can write mostly always but it is easier at night when my siblings are asleep lol

@Constance--I've got pretty much the same thing going on. I write at night, and I'm NOT a morning person, lol.

I generally get the most done during winter, because it's dark for a lot longer and earlier periods of time. During the summer, I have more time, b/c of no school, but there's very little darkness, so I have to use the Fortress, a blanket fort that does its best to simulate nighttime. But it can get really stifling, as blocking light also blocks much airflow. So I've been staying up til four and five recently because night doesn't fall until like 1, and it takes time for me to focus. Winter is my favorite for writing.

I like writing when everyone else is asleep so that's usually between midnight & 9 a.m. I'm pretty sure I'm a morning person because I can be up super early (with no sleep) & still be able to function lol. But my favorite time to do anything is after midnight.

If that's so... Why don't you ever come chat?! André and I need more late people!

That was probably at you, Shahira, since Amanda is in her own time zone completely and midnight for her is like... morning for us.

Oops. Yeah, it was for you Shahira.

Yes, I am in my own time zone. All by myself. It's -4.00 off of EST, so at my midnight, it's 4 in the morning for East Coasters.

I get my best writing done in the winter at really any time of the day, I just have to be focused on it.

No rhyme or reason, really. Other than NaNoWriMo. But I didn't get serious about writing until September 2010, and since then, I've written a novel every three-ish months. I like writing when I am super busy, so the summer is a bad time for me to write.
