QOTD Sunday May 29
Sorry guys, I've been blowing these off. I've been sick and life's been busy and it's just getting busier as I prep to go out of town. I'll try to keep these up, because I LOVE your answers!
QUESTION: What's your favorite part of the writing process? Thinking up a story? Beginning it? Writing it? Editing it? Sending it to agents? How about putting it in a drawer and calling it 'done' ?
*Note: If you ever have question ideas, please tell me! I'm always up for new questions.

My favorite part of the writing process is when it sells millions of copies and I am a household name. That totally happened last week.
No, just kidding
Seriously, I love drafting. It's euphoric and feeds my competitive urges. Plus, when else do you create something out of nothing?
I also love full requests/partial requests/anything that says an industry professional (AKA someone who knows what they're talking about, and NOT your mom/dad (unless your mom/dad is, like, Jennifer Laughran or something)) thinks you have potential.

Hope you're feeling better!
I think I'm going to have to agree with Taryn(I didn't want to, but...). Drafting is the best, because it's all about the discovery and creation of new things. And then submitting and getting responses is either tied or a close second, because it's the culmination of all that hard work--you're finally sending it out into the world.
I think my third favorite is the editing, because then you can get the first draft as close to your vision as possible. I do like thinking up stories--there's that burst of inspiration which is always awesome, but it's not ultimately fulfilling, because you haven't gotten anything substantial done.

Mmm, yeah. I agree with Taryn too!! Except I don't agree with your bit about editing, Amanda. I mean, yes, it's sooo awesome to see it coming together! But normally editing isn't my favorite. It's the drafting that has all the suspense of "What will happen now?" because I'm a pantser.
