QUESTION: Have you ever burned out on writing? If so, how long? What burned you out? What got you writing again?

I don't understand what you mean by burned out

Burned out: Can't write any more. Frustrated by your writing. Out of ideas and motivation.

That happens to me every December. Because of NaNoWriMo. XD I've spent a month pushing myself as hard as I can to hit my wordcount in a month, and once I do I'm completely burned out. I'm usually able to write again by January, though. XD

I don't think that'll happen to me this year, though. I'm getting used to writing a lot more every day, and I'm basically doing NaNo right now, with this deadline, so unless I decide to aim for 100k in a month or something (knowing me, I probably would... >_>) I don't think I'll get as easily burned out afterwards.

@Andre That happened to me last December. I didn't even want to THINK about writing, let alone actually doing it lol.

I don't really know what I do when I'm burned out. I love going back to story ideas I haven't worked on for a while so I can get a fresh look at them & get inspiration that way.

Hmm. When I'm burned out I just stop, because I lack motivation and everything. If at a ll possible, I'll try to write short stories to keep myself at least WRITING. *shrug* But I hate being burned out.

Writing short stories is a good idea. For me, once I stop, it's hard to start up again so I think I'll start doing that.

@Shahira Yeah, I've totally been there done that with stopping. It set my writing so far back. Short stories was a good solution.
