I don't think I've ever read anything by John Green, but Suzanne Collins and Laurie Halse Anderson are some of my favorites, too.

Of all time, I'd have to say my top five are C.S. Lewis, Shannon Hale, Garth Nix, William Nicholson, and J.K. Rowling. Rick Riordan and John Flanagan are up there, too. Smile

Hmmmmm, maybe I ought to chime in, too!

My favorite classic author is Jane Austen. Unabashedly. I've read all of her novels several times (with the possible exception of Northanger Abbey, which I think I've only read once).

Favorite fantasy authors I cut my teeth on:

Katherine Kurtz
Patricia McKillip
Terry Brooks (even though the Shannara stuff is so derivative Razz)

And continued to cut my teeth on even though I didn't discover him until later:

Tolkien

YA faves:

Kate Constable
J.K. Rowling (her writing, not necessarily the actual HP series)
Suzanne Collins
Jodi Meadows (Hah! You can't read her yet. Her debut novel will be out in early 2012. AND YOU WILL LOVE IT!)

The three that immediately come to mind are Tamora Pierce, Eoin Colfer and Anthony Horowitz. I suppose there's a similarity that all three have written worlds that just come alive, and I love going back to re-read their adventures.

For adult books, I shamelessly love Katie MacAlister. Whoo boy, just love love love her books, even though the hero and heroine's characteristics may bleed into one another. And Jennifer Crusie. Hilarious. Favourite is Bet On Me.

For children's books, who can forget Enid Blyton? Staple as a kid! I have two trunks full of her books. xD

Ooh, Anthony Horowitz is a good one! Smile The Alex Rider series of his is one of my favorites(that I never remember when thinking of a list of favorites), and I've got some more of his stuff on my TBR list. Which is really long, thanks to school. Shocked I'll get to them all eventually.

Yeah! I've read only the Alex Rider series, and loved it before the movie came out. The movie, of course starring Alex Pettyfer, and the ever fabulous Ewan McGregor. Darn it, that boy should just play Jace Wayland in Cassandra Clare's THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS series, come on already. xD

I just saw the movie semi-recently--man, I didn't know Ewan McGregor was in it! Haha, must not have been paying that much attention...

Some of C.S. Lewis' other stuff is really good--I think my favorite was The Great Divorce, though The Screwtape Letters were really good, too. And for Rick Riordan, The Red Pyramid is awesome! It takes a couple chapters to get into the different style, but once you're there, you're there--the Egyptian Percy Jackson is a good description, if you haven't heard of it.

I have heard of it but I've spent all my savings on books and can't buy anymore right now but there is a book festival on tomorrow I might get my parents to buy it for me. I just bought 4 books today:
-Percy Jackson The Demigod Files
-Tales of The Greek Heroes by Roger Lancelyn Green, introduced by Rick Riordan
-Time Riders, The Doomsday code(book 3) by Alex Scarrow
-The Necromancer (book 4 from The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel by Micheal Scott.
