What's your favorite book turned movie or tv show? For me I think it has to be Pretty Little Liars. Even though some of the stuff isn't the same, I actually found that in some ways the tv show is better than the books and it keeps the dramatic, you never know what's going to happen next, feel.

I want to be a dork and say LOTR, because I can't think of anything else that did a pretty descent job of making a movie. Perhaps P&P is up there on the list, at least the version I like is... umm. I can't think of anything else, and I don't really watch TV so. *shrug*

LOTR scared me! But I know everyone says it was amazing lol. Pride and Prejudice was amazing, I completely forgot about that, it's officially my favorite! Smile

The only ones I can think of are P&P and LOTR, lol. Oh, and I found out that Freaky Friday is a book, and the book is awful(couldn't get past first five pages), but I enjoyed the movie, so there you are. Smile

I've never read the book but I really liked the movie! The more I think about it the more I realize how many books have been turned into movies or tv shows, it's actually kinda crazy how many have been!

*agrees with Sarah*

I forgot one. Jane Austen's "Emma" -- the book is good (of course) and I just recently discovered the BEST movie version of Emma ever. All the actors/actresses are phenomenal. I really, really loved it! So there's another one.

I haven't read the book yet, I've been wanting to since I read P&P and S&S but I haven't got to it yet Sad What's the cast in the movie of it? I'll try to find it Very Happy

Omg, I'm soooo excited cause my I was talking to my brother and he kept saying that he wanted to read the novel I finished a few months ago. I know that sounds like somthing really stupid to get excited about but he's 18 years old, plays sports, hangs out with friends all the time, is a senior in highchool, and doesn't read unless force, and he kept reminding me to print it out tomorrow when I was leaving his room. lol, I'll shut up now, but I'm just so excited for him to read it Smile (lol, can you tell I'm the little sister, anyone with a big brother will get how huge this is haha)

@Sarah

Ahhh! He does!?! I think I would die if my brother asked for my work! And he's even reminding you to print it out?? You must feel like the luckiest sister alive right now! Razz

Here's a link to the Emma: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] It's the best version yet. It combines all the best things that's in the other "Emma"s. The acting is so good, and they really stick to the book!

I hope you get to watch it, and enjoy. ^^

@Lizzy--Emma looks so good! Do you think they would have it at a library? Very Happy

@Sarah--That's so exciting! My (three years younger) brother read an old, unfinished draft of my book without permission. He got my old laptop when I got a new one, and I guess my account was still logged in, so he got on there and read it because he was bored. He didn't get any of it and pronounced everything wrong, lol. And now that he's read the first half of my rewrites, he keeps asking why I changed stuff. And he's convinced that he knows who's going to win in the love triangle, which I take to mean that I did a very good job of being misleading. Smile

@Lizzy, yeah, I totally feel like the luckiest sister ever! And he reminded me like a ton of times to print it out while I was leaving Very Happy I'm so excited!

The movie looks awesome! Maybe they have it at the library *looks hopeful* or better yet, maybe they have it on Netflix instant play!

@Amanda, I would hate for my younger sibling to read it without my permission. Like my sister, she tires to do that and it annoys me so much, but the funny thing is that if it was my older brother, I don't think I would care. I think it's just, you look at you younger siblings as annoying and you look up to your older ones Smile

Haha, its very good writing if he can't guess who's going to win the love triangle. He's 15, then right? Personally I find it amazing if any brother reads his sisters work (out of boredom or not, which if he read the whole thing, then he probably did it cause he liked it, and just won't tell you Smile) but thats probably stereotypical of me cause I'm basing everything off of my brother and I know not everyones brother is exactly like mine lol

I'm basically the oldest sibling(tied with Renee', but still), and I would love an older sibling to read my stuff. But alas, they do not exist, lol. Yeah, he's fifteen, but he acts like a twelve year old at most, so I usually don't remember that he's turned fifteen. Rolling Eyes He reads basically whatever he can get his hands on, usually like five times in a row, and out of order, if it's a series. It's pretty ridiculous, but I can think of a lot of things he could be doing instead that I would not approve of, so it's all good. What's funny is that I strongly hinted that he was wrong, and he argued with me, the author, that I was wrong. Laughing

Lol, so true, but that's all guys. My mom used to joke that you have to subtract 2 years from a guys age and that's how old they will act, which is why I was always treated the same as my brother instead of 2 years younger than him. It was always funny growing up, cause it was like I was his twin (which is probably why I'm so obsessed with boy girl twins). You're so lucky that you have a brother that loves to read! I wish my brother did, he really hates it though (which just adds to my shock Smile)

That just made me laugh so much! I think its so funny when little siblings start arguing about what's going to happen in the book, and your like "um I'm the writer, it's not happening!" and they still think that it will hahaha

@Sarah I don't know if it's on Netflix (as instant play), and it's semi-new so I don't know if it would be in a library. We rented it from Netflix, but through mail.. so. *shrug* But I really thoroughly enjoyed it!

I know what you guys mean about subtracting 2 years from guys ages and all. Haha, and I so agree! They mature slower.

@Amanda I would be pretty upset if a younger sibling of mine read my work. My younger brother (drives me nuts...lol) but he has asked before if he can read my work. It's so sweet! I haven't given him anything yet, though, because I write YA stuff and I'm not sure he'd be so in to it.

My dad DID read the first page of something I left open once and I was really ticked with him for reading it without asking because I'm really protective of my work. xD

Instant play is the stuff you can play on the ruko (i don't think I spelled that right lol) and you can watch them right away on your iPad or computer, and the ruko is for a tv. It's really cool, you just pay extra and you don't have to wait for it to come in the mail. I watched the whole like 7 seasons of Buffy the Vampire slayer on it lol, but it's only for certain movies.

Yeah, we have Apple TV and Netflix on there with the Instant Play feature. xD I just checked, and that version of Emma is NOT available for instant play. Sad

Hmm ... movie adaptations I like. Holes, Howl's Moving Castle, Harry Potter, Stardust, Coraline. Uh, that's all I can think of at the moment.
