QOTD Friday July 1
Happy July! Let's start this month of right with QOTD.
QUESTION: How quickly do you usually write books? When did you start? When do you see yourself querying and eventually as a published author?

Hehehe, I love that the question period is apparently a mini-NaNo.
I can usually knock out two novels a year--6 months each for plotting the treatment, writing the first draft, then editing the heck out of it. Also, as a "stress breaker," when I finish a novel, I'll take a few weeks before starting the next one to write and submit some short stories. Shorts are a great way to get the juices flowing again after slogging through 100,000+ words!

@Serena Sounds good to me! It's pretty much the same for me, including break time and lots of space for writer's block. ^^

That's how long until my deadline is over.

Re: QOTD Friday July 1
I'm a bit late with this question, but I haven't been near a computer all weekend.
I'm a slow writer, so it usually takes me a year and a half or two years to write a novel. With my current WIP, I'm estimating it should take me 10 months to get the rough draft done (this is fast for me). I started writing in May, so should have it done in the New Year.
I think it'll be a long time until I'm ready to start querying. I'm on my third novel, but haven't actually ever edited a novel to completion. I finish a rough draft and want to jump straight to a new project.

Okay, I can answer it now.
Apparently, if I REALLY get crackin', it doesn't take too long. Ish. Still. It took me a couple months.

@Matt--I'm the same way. I write slow. I'm working on editing my first novel to completion, but it's a slow process, also. Just slow, slow, slow all around. But there's the positive side to that--I know I'm steadfast!
