For Those That Have Seen the Hunger Games(or want to)...

So, I waited a WHOLE WEEKEND to post this. So long. Basically, I want to know what you thought of the movie! Try to avoid spoilers, or at least put a warning in case people haven't seen it yet(or read the book or whatever. You know what I mean.).

Me, I thought it was AMAZING. It followed the book really well, and it conveyed the feel of the book, too. Which is pretty much mythical in the world of book-to-movies(though LOTR did amazingly in my opinion <3). AND I LOVE PEETA. And Rue. And everyone. It was just so much epic. *

What did YOU think?

I want to see it so bad! I just can't get any family members to see it with me but I think I'll be able to convince a friend to see it with me at some point, hopefully

I finally saw it today! I loved everything except Gale! B/c Gale was…ugly. And Prim was a bit whiny…but I could ignore that for most of the movie, since they, you know, weren't there. I thought Jennifer Lawrence did a really good job, but I still would've preferred an actress that matched the description at least a little. The backlash about Rue kinda proves that America needs an ethnic main character where her skin color isn't the issue, especially since that's how she was in the book. I did love it though! Can't wait for Catching Fire.

@Amanda- He wasn't UGLY. He just didn't look like Gale should have. But gosh, was Prim whiny. O_o But yeah, they weren't there most of the time, so it was good. The part where it switched to Gale and silence during the countdown cracked me up, though. XD
Yeah...Jennifer Lawrence was really good. It made up for not looking like Katniss should've. (Unlike Gale. )

@Constance—Like I said on Maggie's blog post, Liam Hemsworth isn't ugly, but in the context of being Gale, he is ugly. I cracked up, too! And you know when else I cracked up? During the previews…we had a Breaking Dawn Pt. 2 trailer. OMGSH IT WAS HILARIOUS. The calm, tranquil deer eating grass, and then…BELLA. ROFL.

Yeah, I saw that comment earlier. That pretty much sums it up.
That trailer cracked me up UNTIL the deer. POOR BAMBI, DON'T DIE! (I actually said that to my friend when we saw it. XD)

Late to the party here... haha. I saw Hunger Games and LOVED it. Peeta-actor did a fabulous job, I thought! Lived up to my expectations. I, personally, didn't have a problem with Katniss not looking like she was described in the book. I'd prefer someone who can act over someone who is faithful to the book. I couldn't BELIEVE the response to Rue... makes me ashamed to call myself American. Sheesh. Some people!

But really. AMAZING movie! Go see it. =)

And I was kinda: "Oh nooo!" at the breaking dawn trailer. Scary Bella!

@Maggie- Peeta DID do a fabulous job. And Katniss's differences didn't BOTHER me so much––it was more like "She doesn't look like Katniss...Oh well."
I'm not actually sure what the response to Rue was...? I've heard a bit of chatter about there BEING a response, but I've missed everything about what the actual "response" is. O_o

I really liked it! It captured the book quite well. Of course, the computer-generated stuff was very cheesy, but oh well. I still liked it.

@Constance, the fake stuff like the transporters. Like when it comes down to pick up Katniss and Peeta out of the arena.

Personally I loved it (and have already seen it twice) as it was fairly good at staying faithful to the book. I didn't really love Peeta or Gale (not how I imagined them), but Jennifer Lawrence is an amazing actress and she did absolutely awesome!!
