Fastest you've read a book?
What's the fastest you've read and finished a book?
I think my fastest was reading HG, HP and some other middle grade books I read in a day. I basically dropped everything to read Hunger Games and sometimes Harry Potter.
Yeah...I can't remember my official fastest read.

Re: Fastest you've read a book?
My fastest read was Harry Potter 5. My brother's soccer grand finals were the day the book was released, and I managed to finish the book that day. Unfortunately, I probably read it too fast, and didn't really take in the details. I suppose I read the words, not the story.
Hunger Games was another quick read, I finished it in two days.

I think, for sheer volume in the smallest amount of time, my fastest read was Eclipse--when it came out, I finished it in between four and five hours. Heh...those were all after midnight. I didn't get much sleep.
I also remember finishing Harry Potter 5 pretty quick, too, but it definitely has to take second place. My fifth grade teacher let me read it in class--either he wasn't paying attention, or he knew I was already familiar with the material, and so let it slide. He was an awesome teacher.

That, and he probably understood. (He started crying when he read the end of Bridge to Terabithia to us, even though he said he'd done it plenty of times. The class was torn between laughing and crying. )

Ahh! That's the coolest thing ever. I've only known one set of twins in my life and I was always fascinated. And you both write?
Re: Fastest you've read a book?
Yep--I've been writing seriously for probably two more years, with more words total to my name, but she's starting to get back into practicing. Most of the time, she reads what I've written and edits it. We think alike, so sometimes neither of us catch a problem, but it's usually a good system--I'll write and look over it, and then she'll look over it with the advantage of not being close to it, so she can see the errors. That helps me to distance myself from my writing really quickly.Lizzy wrote:Amanda wrote:Yep, she is.

Re: Fastest you've read a book?
I am SO jealous. I want a twin sister/ writing buddy! You're really lucky, you know that? Have you ever thought about working on a book together?
Re: Fastest you've read a book?
Haha, yes, lucky is probably an understatement. We've got at least one project that we're considering doing together, in the future. It's sort of a Snow White retelling, starting in ancient Greece and ending in modern America. Renee' got the initial idea, and I've helped flesh it out, and we might write it together, once our current projects are done. I think it'll be pretty cool.Lizzy wrote:I am SO jealous. Re: Fastest you've read a book?
It SOUNDS cool, and unique! Good luck with it. You two could have so much fun writing together. When one of you has writer's block, the other can pick up the slack.

the author is Pierre Bottero and they are written in french it's a bit like Narnia with the worlds but you can bring what you imagine into the real world(there are 9 books)
Re: Fastest you've read a book?
Ohh I see. In French. Of course. Well, I'll look it up anyway. Maybe see if I can find an English translation. ^^ I like the idea of the Narnia books even if I didn't love them, really. ^^

Re: Fastest you've read a book?
Gosh, I have no idea. There are a lot of books I read in one day. WELLL um, books I remember reading in less than 24 hours: Monsters of Men, The Lost Hero, all of the Mortal Instruments books (individually, that is), Clockwork Angel, The Marbury Lens, What Happened to Lani Garver, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, The Glass Castle ... Ahhh that's all I can think of. For good books, anyway. There are a lot of bad books that I just skimmed really fast. Heh heh. O_o
Re: Fastest you've read a book?
I got the second book of A Series of Unfortunate Evens on Christmas and finished it that evening. >
I also read Gregor the Overlander Book 2 in one day.
