Do you multitask to get writing done?
Yay for multitasking!!
Ok, so I just finished a chapter (950+ words) while I was making dessert, eating dinner, and keeping an eye on my little sister. Multitasking, in other words. ^^
Have you ever multitasked with writing?

Wow, I'm amazed! I get distracted to easily to multitask while writing, my family calls it shiny ball syndrome lol

I might chat with friends(only one or two, otherwise too many responses), and keep my email open to respond to whatever notifications come in. I might be able to babysit, but not if I'm babysitting the 11-month old niece. If I try to do anything else, it's a fail, of the epic variety.
BTW, Lizzy, what time's the chat at tomorrow(if there is a chat)?

Re: Yay for multitasking!!
My multitasking skills are super limited, as in I can't listen to music with lyrics and do homework at the same time. The lyrics distract me. The classical station is a staple around homework time, lol. Until they start playing opera, and then it just all goes off.
So, simply no is my answer. Writing takes so much concentration that yeah...sometimes I leave an MSN window open, if I'm doing writing sprints with a friend--we start writing at the same time and see how many words we both have at the end of a short time interval, between 10 and 20 minutes, usually.(Really helps me get out of a rut when I'm stuck, because I'm just a little more competitive than I am afraid of sucking, lol.*) I leave my email minused in the dock, sometimes, in case something important comes up. But that's my computer multitasking, not me. I'm all in the zone.
*I really only get stuck when I just know what's in my head isn't going to come out right.

I'm gonna check what time I have it as, and if I haven't put up the post in the ANNOUNCEMENTS forum yet, then look for it there! ^^ It'll probably be 7-8EST. I need to not forget!

Same here about music and homework!! It has to be lyric-less or it goes off. ^^
That sounds awesome about having a friend write at the same time! Sometimes I'll have my sister time me to see how long it takes me to write 1,000 words, say. Then I'm being competitive against the clock. (That's how I get out of stuck places, usually)
Re: Yay for multitasking!!
Okie-dokie... Pardon my asking, but which time zone is EST? Is that New York-side, Kansas, or California? I totally couldn't find it when I googled it. O.o

Re: Yay for multitasking!!
Okay, thanks... I thought so. But I had to check. Being off by an hour could mean missing the whole thing.
(...That was just because I really wanted to use it. ^^)

Haha, if it helps, WriteSpinner, just search Google "What time is it in New York City?" and it will give you Eastern Time. I am in Central so I always have to remember to add an hour. ^^
Re: Yay for multitasking!!
Yeah, I am too. So... The chat is at 6 for me. *looks at clock*
Oh, dear. Better go start dinner so I'll be done in time for the chat!
