UGH.

Have you ever fallen asleep in the afternoon, pretty much unintentionally, and slept too long and then woke up ridiculously fuzzy? Sad

Yep. That's me.

I. CAN'T. FUNCTION. RIGHT. NOW.

Oh, I've done that before! Usually when I'm really sick, I take a nap, and I totally regret it every time. I just never fully wake up for the rest of the day--I'm just fuzzy. That's the perfect word for it. And it's such a waste of time! I can't use the rest of my day for anything but watching movies. Sometimes reading pulls me out of it, but it has to be a really good book. Neutral

Drink tea! Caffeine helps. But then you might not be able to fall asleep on time, so...it's a give and take. Laughing

I finally woke up. It took a lot of tweeting and Write On!-ing and emailing to pull me out of it. Watching movies or reading never help for me, because they just make me want to go right back to sleep! *shakes head* I'm glad it passed!

Caffeine, unfortunately, has no effect on me, unless it's in a shot (or three) of espresso, and then it makes me twitch. But as far as keeping me awake? Nah. Forget that. :\

Oh, no, a movie wouldn't make me wake up, it just requires no effort, so it would be all I felt like doing, lol. It has to be a really exciting book to break through the haze--something lyrical like The Goose Girl would just lull me back to sleep. Smile Also, I sometimes brew 2 bags of Lipton in a single cup for maximum potency when I'm super uber tired. That's the tea caffeine equivalent of a shot of espresso, and if you have two of these in a row, that's a whole latte! Very Happy

Ahhhhh. I didn't want to know this!!!!

It's okay. Caffeine isn't THAT bad for you. Right?? Razz

I don't drink Lipton though, usually... So does that mean different teas are going to have different levels of caffeine? O_o

This happens to me frequently. I've learned to set 3 alarms before impromptu naps. Rolling Eyes But I have no solution; when I wake up I usually wander around slowly until I'm more awake. Or if I managed to sleep until a time where I'm supposed to be somewhere, I wake up and get ready to leave in a panic! xD That always wakes me up. Razz

When that happens to me, I drink tea and try to engage my brain somehow. It doesn't work very well. Very Happy At the end of last school year, for two weeks straight I was so tired every day from noon to 5 that I couldn't function, but couldn't sleep when I tried. I was beginning to think I had hypersomnia in addition to my insomnia. O_o That hasn't happened in a little while though, so I think it was just the stress of graduating and being behind in classes.

Caffeine FTW! 8D Most black teas have the same amount. I'd assume that Irish has the most, since it's so dark, followed by Lipton/most other generic brands, and then English Breakfast. Idk about English Afternoon Tea--that's where it gets tricky. Razz

@Constance Hehehe, you're the queen of naps! ^^

@Renee Oh no! Sad No fun. Yeah, stress will soooo do that to you! Stress SUCKS.

Yikes! I love Irish Breakfast tea! Does that count? And what about PG Tips? It's just... black tea. O_O VERY black.

As much as I love naps, I hate the feeling when I wake up. I'm always crabby and more tired then before. :/ I try to avoid it but sometimes I fall asleep without meaning to like you did Maggie. Smile
