Awesome summers, everyone?
Let's talk about SUMMER. *relishes the word*
How has your summer been? Anything amazingly exciting that you've done recently? How much have you written or read? Any amazing books to recommend? Is this summer the best of your life?
*sits back to let the awesome answers come pouring in*

You already know how my summers going so I won't repeat the depressingness of it *sigh* hmmm, good books? Well, I loved Uncommon Criminals by Ally Carter and right now I'm waiting for Supernaturally to come out by Kirsten White (y'all can tell me if I totally messed up her first name, I can't remember if it's Kristen or Kirsten). How about you, Lizzy?

*hugs you*
I haven't heard of either book. Paranormal isn't my thing, really... *assuming they're paranormal* ??
Mine is going well. I'm enjoying to no end the freedom of being able to do NOTHING if I want to. Junior year was no picnic. I'm not ready for senior.

Thanks *gives chocolate for being such a good friend*
Uncommon Criminals is the sequel to Heist Society and they aren't paranormals. I would definitely give them a try because they were amazing! Supernaturally is the sequel to Paranormallcy and it's pretty good as far as paranormals go. Oh and I just thought of a new one that I recently read and loved - Divergent by Veronica Roth. It was amazing!!!! I read it like 10 times! And I think it's a book that you would love (if you haven't read it already )
Yay! Thats good! Enjoy the awesomeness of doing nothing! I know I will once class is over It's the same way for me, I keep dreading the end of summer. It's been going by so fast!

Re: Awesome summers, everyone?
My summer winter has been all right, I suppose. There have been a few nice warm days, but most of the time I'm living in jeans and a jumper.
I haven't really done anything exciting; I've been on holidays but I've been at home for the most of it, especially the last two weeks because I'm still on holidays, but everyone else has gone back to school. (Yay for university!!)
I've been doing quite a lot of reading - I finally got around to reading Paranormalcy (I think it's spelled Kiersten, there's definitely an E after the first I in her name) and Across the Universe by Beth Revis. I loved AtU, but Paranormalcy was too much of a love story for my liking.

Re: Awesome summers, everyone?
My summer has consisted of:
Trip to Florida
Job
Job
Job
Job
Finishing book
Job
Job
Cute nephews and niece!!!!
And on Sunday, I am seeing Captain America. And Monday, I am going to Six Flags. And Tuesday, I am seeing HP7-2.
So my summer is a mix of fun and not funs.
I really haven't read anything. Half the books I've started, I have put down because I just wasn't loving the story. I think I'm getting stingier. *cheers...?*
I REALLY want to read Across the Universe, Divergent, and Uncommon Criminals! Those have to be three of my top wanna-reads.

Re: Awesome summers, everyone?
Hiya folks. Hrrm. My summer has been pretty dull. I have a job at the library. And a babysitting job. So those take up a lot of my time. Mostly I just poop around on the internet.
My writing has been going rather crappy. I'm trying to do Camp NaNo but now I'm like 15k words behind. So uh, I should do something about that. *She says for the five billionth time*

Re: Awesome summers, everyone?
@Brigid Oooh, library summer job. Fun, fun. Babysitting, too. *babysits often*
Camp NaNo. *sigh* I didn't even want to try it. I wanted to write what I'm writing right now... not worry about words, getting competitive etc. How come you aren't writing? Just lack of motivation?

Re: Awesome summers, everyone?
@Lizzy - The library job is my year-round job actually. Heh. Yeah, babysitting is fun except for the frequent cleaning up of poop. I don't like that. (I'm babysitting a one-year-old.)
Eh, I don't know. I just kind of keep losing track of time. Like, I know what I'm going to write. But then I'll be like, "I have all day to write!" *looks at clock* "Oh damn, it's almost 7 PM right now." So yeah. I should go write soon. Hrrmmm.

Re: Awesome summers, everyone?
@Brigid Sounds like a quiet job. ^^ Do you ever just get to put up your feet and read? And yes, I understand. Though I watch/nanny a 4-year-old boy year round and he's quite potty trained. I only watch babies on and off for date nights and stuff.
Aaack, I know exactly what you mean. Usually the root of that problem, for me, is internet. Because I just keep... dawdling. Reading blogs, checking twitter, watching a video, playing some music, glancing at the clock, and repeating. And then all of a sudden it's just... too late.
*waits for you to go write*

Re: Awesome summers, everyone?
@Lizzy It's quiet-ish, yes. Ugh, no. I wish. I'm a library page, which means I have to shelve books for 2-4 hours straight. It's not much fun.
Yes, me too! Ha, you described my problem exactly. I spend so much time on Facebook, YouTube, Goodreads, Gmail, Twitter ... and suddenly the whole day is gone. The internet should go jump off a cliff. Except... there are so many lovely people on the internet. *sighs*

Re: Awesome summers, everyone?
@Brigid Okay, that does NOT sound like such a great job. While working at a library might sound like any writer's (or bookworm's) dream, I've never pursued it simply because I think I'd get BORED out of my MIND. And I like to move and talk to people at least once in a while... the silence might get maddening. *tries to imagine*
I know. It's such a love hate battle with internet. I just need to learn the balance between internet fun and "work" (writing). Then I'll be good.

Re: Awesome summers, everyone?
No, it's pretty dull. Haha. I do kind of get to talk to people ... like, ya know, answer people's questions about where certain books are, etc. But that's about it. At least it gives me time to think about my writing and stuff.
Indeed. Same here.
