QUESTION: What's your favorite era to write stories in? Do you like them in olden times? Or futuristic? How about the present? Why? Maybe you make up your own time period completely?

My favorite era to write in is right now. :] Partly because I'm too lazy to do research on the past Also, I can't really imagine what the future will be like so I never try writing in that era. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Re: QOTD Sunday May 22
I love reading Victorian set books (like the Gemma Doyle series, or some classics) but I can't write them. I wish I could, but I'd mess up on the setting and language and well, everything. I'd have to do a lot of research if I'd write a book set in those times, research that I am guiltily too lazy to do.
So, I set my stories in recent times. Times that I have actually witnessed. xP
So, I agree with Shahira.

@Shahira LOL!! That makes total sense. It IS easy to write in a time you live in. XD
@Maya YOU'RE BACK!!! *so excited* And I LOVE victorian times too. But same, it's a lot of research to write during, so I totally understand.

Most of my stories aren't in any era since they're fantasy or sci-fi, which doesnt' really count. My favourite time period ever, though, is from the 1500s-1800sish. Sailing ships, basically. Freaking AWESOME. Which is why I have a project set in a version of that time period which I'm going to start writing eventually. XD Also why I love Pirates of the Caribbean so much.

@Andre--You just stole my response. I don't know whether to be miffed about the stealing, or thankful that I can work on rewrites instead of coming up with a carefully worded response.
@Maya--YOU'RE BACK! YAY!
I will add that I like ancient settings as well, in the interesting cultures, like India, China, Japan, Middle East, Greece, Rome, Egypt...yeah. Lots of research, but I don't call it research or consider it drudgery because I'm so intrigued by those cultures in those eras.

I don't have a favorite time period. I'm kind of tired of the typical medieval and the typical modern day, but I can't choose a favorite era. I think they're all interesting.
