I love summer. I love summer. I love su-- oh, wait. It's not summer yet.

Anyway.

QUESTION: Do you write according to your emotions? Ex. Writing a scene of mass destruction when you're angry, writing a tear-jerker scene when you're sad, etc. If so, why? If not, why?

Hmm...not really. I always write chronologically, so I follow the chain of events planned in my head. I tend to kind of immerse myself in the world, so even if I am angry, if the scene is sad or something, I'll soon be closer to the emotion I'm going for in writing than the one I've experienced in real life. I'm always working with my goal in mind, so my real-life emotions don't really effect/carry over into my writing. And if they're strong enough to do so, I find myself not really focused enough to write in my WIP, anyway.

Hmm, neat! That totally makes sense.

When I draft, I'm more my characters than me. Probably b/c of the intensity with which I write.That means that happy character=happy Taryn. This, of course, meant I was very angsty when drafting Splashback. There are exceptions.

If I get mad, my characters become very determined to prove themselves. If I'm scared to death by strange noises, I write a creepy short story. And then get scared-er. If I'm happy, I like to torture my characters.

Like Amanda, I draft chronologically, but I revise scenes based on my mood.

I'm like Amanda and Taryn; I write chronologically too. But, if I'm angry or sad, then I'm probably not in the mood to write.
